Now
You laugh they cry
You eat they starve
You stand they fall
You walk they crawl
Soon
You sow they reap
You labour they sleep
You pay they bill
You hurt they heal
Earlier
They hunger you dine
They thirst you wine
You rise they hide
You blossom they slide
If Now
They call you answer
They mourn you gather
They perish you save
They signal you wave
Later
You sing they cheer
You speak they hear
You ask they give
For you lived and let live

LET NOT THIS FIRE SPREAD
LET NOT THIS FIRE SPREAD
Let
not this fire spread
To the rising smoke & flame
put an end
To the oil, tears and blood
spilled and shed
To the loss and broken heart that
time’ll never mend
Please let not this fire spread
Let not this fire spread
For in defense will each for
himself fend
An invite to the chaos, war and
famine we so much dread
So let the Great & Mighty for
peace stoop and bend
Please let not this fire spread
Let no this fire spread
Vice and violence have become the
new trend
Adieu to all our compatriots who
fell and bled
Who stood firm for truth and
refused to blend
Please let not this fire spread
Let not this fire spread
This tiny sparks may escalate
beyond what we intend
In protest we have shunned the
hunt for our daily bread
Do not bask slowly in shady
silence and pretend
Please let not this fire spread
Let not this fire spread
Ours is a nation known to invest
less than we spend
Dissatisfaction and anger color
our very eyes red
Address priorities, corruption and
frivolities suspend
Please let not this fire spread
Let not this fire spread
Whether you earn billions or less
than a stipend
Remember we will lie as we make
our bed
This broken wall is for us all to
mend
Please let not this fire spread
Let not this fire spread
This is the cry we’ve signed and
now send
For the Labors of our Heroes past
and dead
We unite as one and our voices we
lend
Please let not this fire spread.

Promising Young Man
PROMISING YOUNG MAN |
Hear the travails of a single mother
Traded her heaven for love
But hopes and dreams short-lived and ran
Now she cries aloud to every woman
Be ware of a promising young man
He promised to move me mountains
He vowed to spring forth like fountains
At my faintest whisper when in need
And called on cupid to strike him stupid
If he is short of a word or letter in his creed
He stands and mopes as thought lost in lust
It is vanity to yearn and lust over dust
He calls my left keg wonderful
And the right he christened as powerful
Both together he called beautiful
He said the sun rises in my glittering eyes
That heaven is hid between my very thighs
And will persevere till he finally makes it to heaven
He spoke sweet sounding sermons as time ticked eleven
Words like fetters, held hostage a lass due home for seven
He said my presence did make him shiver
And for my absence, he’ll cry me a river
If only I would be his all in one miss
He’ll treat me to a night of ceaseless kiss
And our ever after will be made of an endless bliss
Little did I know that the name I bore was a loan
Soon I’ll be striped of the same and left to moan alone
From my heaven he’s got saints numbering up to seven
Deserted in this lonely cold night as time ticked eleven
He’s abandoned me and all the saints in search for a new heaven

Bloody Bill
Bloody Bill
In him was the curse of the law personified
Born a lion in royalty, died a lamb in loyalty
Calvary deal was sealed with the blood of Christ the crucified
The one broker through whom humanity has acquired her share in Divinity
An investment that yields a premium of an endless life
Of one who spent the rest of his earthly life to give the life of his heavenly rest
Transforming the woe of his foe into his church and worth wife
In dying her death she may live his life; true love at its best
The Prince came to the earth to shop for a bride
Willingly signed a bloody bill regardless of price
Calvary deal was sealed with the blood of Christ the crucified
I died in his death, alas! I live and won’t die twice.

VIRGIN VERSES
Virgin Verses
My verses are virgin never been said
My stanzas are maiden never been heard
They cheer like beer, making many glad
Drowning the flood from the eyes of the sad
My diction is distinct, simple and true
My lines run on pun, romantic and blue
Rhythmic rhymes refreshing as due
Specially brewed by me for you

IBO MEN
Ever seen a nation:
of men who added extra to their ordinary
of men who became super in the natural
of men who inserted meta to the physical
of men who brought in 'IM' to mortality
men who in search for a fair nut
prospered even in the far north
and cheered others to fear not
men who arose when many were called and few chosen
burning with passion when many were cold and few frozen
men while colleagues where in sited were out standing
and have vowed never to sit in but stand out
men who through faith change and recreate fate
men who defy deities to kiss destiny
took terrestrial trade from global to celestial
men who now trade words with gods
Ndi Igbo
rooted in Nigeria and prospering in diaspora
if only Oha Na Eze could be ONE
then IBOs will forever be Indivisible Brothers Occupying stately

FALSE CAUSE
Elite few for their political reasons & scheming
in deception drew many feeble fellows with a tint of religious emotion
Men who do evil in the name of good and serve the devil in the name of God
Wonder why we would worship deities if we have to protect them and defend their cause
and their feeble faithfuls faithfully fan a false cause
Boko Haram
Biko Hara'm
You claimed to be anti western education
But you are pro western technology & ammunition
fruits of a failed marriage, the abomination of amalgamation
Men of customized violence & signature blood shed
Lo you've turned a green land red
survivors who once bled are now dead
Boko Haram
Biko Hara'm
You claimed your problem was the government
But you bombed the unarmed and innocent
I know of a place you'll never raze or dent
Too many Mosquitoes standing untouched and fat
Yet you set ablaze a moving Church rat
Which heavens do you connect from your mat
Boko Haram
Biko Hara'm
Some Say you are fanatical and political
Others say your cause is unrealistic, cannibalistic & tribalistic
Whatever the case, I loathe your bloody passion & fashion
You smoked to ashes mother and child
and returned untimely to dust a groom and his bride
Yet some keep mum, others speak in tongues tender and mild
Boko Haram
Biko Hara'm
You double the woes of the Niger-area
and in your folly, threw stones at the market square
You've lost some of your own and soon to be deserted alone
Imagine the opportunities lost at a senseless cost
In my mother-tongue, I bid you to end this wrong
Boko Haram
Biko Hara'm
I have had this burden borne like a laden camel
it is true our beliefs differ in Isaac and Ishmael
Yet i entreat you in the name of our father Abraham
Let folks flock in your pastures without fear of harm
For infected with dirge is my song that is sung
True we do not share a common tongue
But its crystal clear we share a common skin
The victims of your transferred aggression ask,'What is our sin?'
are we the government or the western education so forbidden?
Sheet your explosive swords and let words detonate from your mouth
Remember the support and base of every North is a supplying South
